Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2009

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 .27 July 2009

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2009 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2000 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation) Regulation 3(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting the definition of pensioner and substituting the following definition: pensioner means a person who is – (a) the holder of a current health care card issued in accordance with the Social Security Act 1991 of the Commonwealth; or (b) the holder of a current pensioner concession card issued in accordance with the Social Security Act 1991 of the Commonwealth or as a fringe benefit under the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 of the Commonwealth; or (c) the holder of a current Gold Card or White Card issued in accordance with the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 of the Commonwealth;
