| Alteration of other rules of organisation. |
[1] On 9 December 2015 VANA Limited lodged with the Fair Work Commission (the
Commission) a notice and declaration setting out particulars of alterations to the rules of
VANA Limited.
[2] The particulars set out alterations to Rules 9, 13 and 18 of the rules of VANA Limited.
The alterations include changing the financial obligations of members in order to vote,
expanding the amount of non-newsagent directors and alterations concerning the disclosure of
directors’ personal interests.
[3] On 23 March 2016, the organisation informed the Commission of their intention to
discontinue with the alterations to rules 9 and 13, and proceed only with the alterations to rule
18 – the disclosure of directors’ personal interests.
[4] On the information contained in the notice, I am satisfied the alterations to rule 18
have been made under the rules of the organisation.
[5] In my opinion, the alterations to rule 18 comply with and are not contrary to the Fair
Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009, the Fair Work Act 2009, modern awards and
enterprise agreements, and are not otherwise contrary to law. I certify accordingly under
subsection 159(1) of the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009.
