Valuers Registration Amendment (Administration) Regulation 1997

Valuers Registration Act 1975

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Valuers Registration Act 1975.

Explanatory note

The Fair Trading Legislation Amendment Act 1997 abolished the Property Services Council and provided for the Director-General of the Department of Fair Trading to exercise the functions under the Valuers Registration Act 1975 formerly exercised by the Council or by its General Manager.

The object of this Regulation is to update references to the Property Services Council, and to the General Manager of the Council, in the Valuers

Registration Regulation 1993.

This Regulation is made under the Valuers Registration Act 1975, including section 30 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Valuers Registration Amendment

(Administration) Regulation 1997.

  1. Amendment of Valuers Registration Regulation 1993

    The Valuers Registration Regulation 1993 is amended as set out

    in Schedule 1 .

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Schedule 1 Amendments

(Clause 2)

[ l ] Clause 3 Definitions
Omit the definition of Council.
[2] Clause 3, definition of “Register” and clauses 8 and 10 (1) (a)
Omit “Council” wherever occurring.
Insert instead “Director-General”.
[3] Clause 10 Surrender of certificate of registration
Omit “General Manager” wherever occurring in clause 10 (1).
Insert instead “Director-General”.
