s1 4 Valuation of Land Amendment The Parliament of Queensland enacts— s4 No. 70, 1994 ˙ Short title 1. This Act may be cited as the Valuation of Land Amendment Act 1994 . ˙ Commencement 2. This Act is taken to have commenced on 26 March 1994. ˙ Act amended 3. This Act amends the Valuation of Land Act 1944 . ˙ Replacement of s 13BA (Alteration of valuation for rate adjustment under Local Government Act or City of Brisbane Act) 4. Section 13BA, as inserted by section 804 and Schedule of the LocalGovernment Act 1993 — omit, insert — ‘ Alteration of valuation for rate adjustment under Local GovernmentAct or City of Brisbane Act ‘ 29A.(1) The chief executive may alter a valuation that was in force in the previous financial year to enable a rate adjustment to be made under section 622 (Rate levied for a period in which a change takes effect) of the LocalGovernmentAct1993 or section 70 (Levy of rate on alteration in unimproved value etc.) of the City of Brisbane Act 1974 . ‘ (2) However, the chief executive may decide not to alter a valuation under subsection (1) if the chief executive is of the opinion, formed on reasonable grounds, that the rate adjustment resulting from the valuation alteration would be so small that making the alteration cannot be justified in the circumstances.’.
