Gas Industry (Amendment) Act 1999†

[Assented to 21 December 1999]

The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Act is to make further provision relating to non-franchise customers under the Gas Industry Act 1994.

2. Commencement

This Act comes into operation on the day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3. Non-franchise customers

No. 12/1994.

After section 6B(1)(c)(ii) of the Gas Industry	Reprint No. 3
Act 1994 insert—	as at 11 May 1999. Further

" or	amended by Nos 36/1999
(iii) the person had purchased not less than	and 39/1999.

100 000 GJ of gas from that supply point, or supply, whichever is the later; or

an ancillary supply point, during the period
of 12 months immediately preceding 1

(iv) on reasonable grounds that the person will
purchase not less than 100 000 GJ of gas
from that supply point within a period of

the supply point is new and ORG is satisfied 1 March 2000 or the commencement of the supply, whichever is the later;".

4. Statute law revision

In the Gas Industry Act 1994—

(a) in section 48M(4) for "a a customer" substitute "a customer";

(b) in section 162(11) and (12)— (i) for "(i)" substitute "(a)"; (ii) for "(ii)" substitute "(b)"; (iii) for "(iii)" substitute "(c)"; (iv) for "(iv)" substitute "(d)";

(c) in clause 3(c)(i) and (ii) of Schedule 2, for "Paragraph" substitute "clause".
