Sustainable Forests (Timber) (Amendment) Act 2006

The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:

1.Purpose

The main purpose of this Act is to amend the Sustainable Forests (Timber) Act 2004 to provide that transfer of certain licences to management by VicForests does not occur.

2.Commencement

This Act comes into operation on the day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3.Amendment of commencement section

In section 2 of the Sustainable Forests (Timber) Act 2004

(a)sub-section (3) is repealed; and

(b)in sub-section (5), omit ", (3)".

4.Amendment of definitions

In section 3 of the Sustainable Forests (Timber) Act 2004

(a)in the definition of "managed licence"—

(i)for "agreement," substitute "agreement or";

(ii)omit "or transferred licence (west)";

(b)the definition of "transferred licence (west)" is repealed.

5.Repeal of provisions dealing with transferred licences (west)

(1)Division 2 of Part 4 of the Sustainable Forests (Timber) Act 2004 is repealed.

(2)Section 35(3) of the Sustainable Forests (Timber) Act 2004 is repealed.

(3)Section 95(2) of the Sustainable Forests (Timber) Act 2004 is repealed.

(4)Schedule 2 to the Sustainable Forests (Timber) Act 2004 is repealed.

6.Repeal of redundant Act and redundant provision

(1)The Forests (Dunstan Agreement) Act 1987 is repealed.

(2)Section 38 of the National Parks (Otways and Other Amendments) Act 2005 is repealed.
