Liquor Control Reform Amendment Act 2011

No. 13 of 2011

[Assented to 10 May 2011]

The Parliament of Victoria enacts:

1Purpose

The purpose of this Act is to amend the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 to impose further restrictions on the supply of liquor to minors.

2Commencement

(1)This Act comes into operation on a day to be proclaimed.

(2)If this Act does not come into operation before 1 February 2012, it comes into operation on that day.

3Supplying liquor to minors

For section 119(5)(e) of the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 substitute

"(e)to the supply of liquor in a residence to a person under the age of 18 years by—

(i)a parent, guardian or spouse of the person (if the spouse is of or over the age of 18 years); or

(ii)someone who is authorised by a parent, guardian or spouse of the person (if the spouse is of or over the age of 18 years) to supply liquor to the person.".

4Repeal of Amending Act

This Act is repealed on 1 December 2012.

Note

The repeal of this Act does not affect the continuing operation of the amendments made by it (see section 15(1) of the Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984).
