Road Safety (Vehicles) (Registration Fees)

Regulations 2003

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 19991 to alter fees for the registration of vehicles.

2. Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3. Commencement

(1) These Regulations, other than regulation 5, come

into operation on 1 July 2003.

(2) Regulation 5 comes into operation on 1 January

2004.

4. Increase in "base fee" for vehicle registration

In clause (3)(b) of Schedule 4 to the Road Safety
(Vehicles) Regulations 1999, for "$140"

substitute "$157".

5. Decrease in "base fee" for vehicle registration

In clause (3)(b) of Schedule 4 to the Road Safety
(Vehicles) Regulations 1999, for "$157"

substitute "$140".

6. Expiry

These Regulations cease to have any force or effect on 2 January 2004.
