Wildlife (Amendment) Regulations 2004

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1.Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Wildlife Regulations 2002 to limit their application with respect to timber harvesting operations authorised under the Sustainable Forests (Timber) Act 2004.

2.Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 87 of the Wildlife Act 1975.

3.Damage, disturbance or destruction of wildlife habitat

After regulation 9(2)(b) of the Wildlife Regulations 2002[1] insert—

"(ba)undertaking timber harvesting operations that are authorised operations referred to in section 45(2)(a) and (b)(i) of the Sustainable Forests (Timber) Act 2004; or".
