Petroleum (Amendment) Regulations 2005
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1.Objectives
The objectives of these Regulations are to insert a new definition and to amend an existing definition in the Petroleum Regulations 2000.
2.Authorising provisions
These Regulations are made under section 252 of the Petroleum Act 1998.
3.Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 28 February 2005.
4.Definitions
In regulation 52 of the Petroleum Regulations 2000[1]—
(a)insert the following definition—
' "domestic partner" of a person means a person to whom the person is not married but with whom the person is living as a couple on a genuine domestic basis (irrespective of gender);';
(b)in paragraph (a) of the definition of "family", for "defacto spouse" substitute "a domestic partner".
