Firearms (Amendment) Regulations 2005

The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's Deputy with the advice of the Executive Council makes the following Regulations:

1.Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Firearms Regulations 1997 to provide for an additional class of approved handgun target shooting matches.

2.Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 191 of the Firearms Act 1996.

3.Amendment to Schedule 7

In Schedule 7 of the Firearms Regulations 1997[1] after item 31 insert

'32.A match shot with a handgun of a calibre of ×38 inch or less at a distance of up to 50 metres at a target that is stationary when exposed, which is conducted in a manner consistent with the rules of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia Combined Services Discipline, and in the discipline known as "Combined Services Pistol Discipline".'.
