Road Safety (Road Rules) (Emergency Vehicles) Regulations 2005

The Lieutenant-Governor, having assumed the administration of the government of the State, with the advice of the Executive Council, makes the following Regulations:

1.Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (Road Rules) Regulations 1999 to provide that certain vehicles are emergency vehicles for the purposes of the Road Rules.

2.Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3.Amendment of Schedule 4

At the end of Schedule 4 to the Road Safety (Road Rules) Regulations 1999[1] insert

'30.The Dictionary at the end of the Road Rules is to be read as if, at the end of the definition of "emergency vehicle", the following paragraph were inserted—

"(g)a vehicle under the control of the Shepparton Search &. Rescue Squad Inc. or the Echuca and Moama Search and Rescue Squad Inc.".'.
