Road Safety (Vehicles) (Fees) Regulations 2006

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1.Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999 to increase certain fees relating to vehicle registration and search, extract and miscellaneous fees by 2×5%.

2.Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3.Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 July 2006.

4.Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

5.Increase in transfer of registration fee

In regulation 237(1)(b) of the Principal Regulations, for "$5.10" substitute "$5.20".

6.Increase in fees for registration and renewal

In Schedule 4 to the Principal Regulations—

(a)in clause (3)(b), for "$164.50" substitute "$168.60";

(b)in item 2 of the Table, for "$7.10" substitute "$7.20".

7.Increase in search and extract fees

In Schedule 5 to the Principal Regulations, in the Table—

(a)in items 1 and 2, for "$7.40" substitute "$7.50";

(b)in item 3, for "$13.90" substitute "$14.20";

(c)in items 4 and 5(i), for "$7.40" substitute "$7.50";

(d)in item 5(ii), for "$13.90" substitute "$14.20".

8.Increase in miscellaneous fees

In Schedule 6 to the Principal Regulations, in the Table—

(a)in item 1, for "$404.40" substitute "$414.50";

(b)in item 2, for "$91.20" substitute "$93.40";

(c)in item 3, for "$13.60" substitute "$13.90";

(d)in item 4, for "$10.70" substitute "$11.00";

(e)in item 7, for "$83.80" substitute "$85.80";

(f)in item 8, for "$34.50" substitute "$35.30";

(g)in items 10, 11 and 12, for "$50.20" substitute "$51.40";

(h)in item 16, for "$127.80" substitute "$131.00".
