Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animals (Amendment) Regulations 2006

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1.Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animals Regulations 2005 to¾

(a)amend the perimeter fencing requirements for dangerous dogs guarding non-residential premises; and

(b)reduce the infringement penalties for certain offences.

2.Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 100 of the Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animals Act 1994.

3.Perimeter fencing requirements for dangerous dogs guarding non‑residential premises

In regulation 7(1)(c) of the Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animals Regulations 2005[1] omit "self‑closing and".

4.Infringement penalties

In items 3 and 30 of Schedule 5 to the Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animals Regulations 2005, for "2×5 penalty units" substitute "2 penalty units".
