Building (Amendment) Regulations 2006
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1.Objectives
The objectives of these Regulations are to amend the Building Regulations 2006 as a consequence of the enactment of the Infringements Act 2006 and to make other minor amendments.
2.Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 261 of the Building Act 1993.
3.Miscellaneous amendments and revocations
(1)In the Building Regulations 2006[1]—
(a)in regulation 105, the definition of "AS/NZS" is revoked;
(b)regulations 709(7), 1704 and 1706 are revoked.
(2)In Schedule 2 to the Building Regulations 2006—
(a)in Form 2—
(i)for "Agent of owner*" substitute "Agent of owner*1";
(ii)for "Builder1" substitute "Builder2";
(iii)for "work2" substitute "work3";
(iv)for "permit3" substitute "permit4";
(v)for "insurance4" substitute "insurance5";
(b)for Notes 1 and 2 at the foot of Form 2 substitute—
"Note 1:Under regulation 318, an owner of a building or land for which a building permit has been issued must notify the relevant building surveyor within 14 days after any change in the name or address of the owner or of the builder carrying out the building work. The penalty for non-compliance is 10 penalty units.
Note 2:Under regulation 317, the person in charge of the carrying out of building work on an allotment must take all reasonable steps to ensure that a copy of this permit and one set of any approved plans, specifications and documents are available for inspection at the allotment while the building work is in progress. The person must also take all reasonable steps to ensure that the registration numbers and contact details of the builder and building surveyor and the number and date of issue of this permit are displayed in a conspicuous position accessible to the public before and during the building work to which this permit applies.";
(c)Form 8 is revoked.
(3)In Schedule 8 to the Building Regulations 2006—
(a)in the Note at the foot of item 2 omit "or of the National Trust of Australia (Victoria)";
(b)in item 3 paragraph (d) is revoked;
(c)in item 16(b), for "Class 1a" substitute "Class 1".
