Parliamentary Allowances (Amendment) Regulations 2006
The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's Deputy with the advice of the Executive Council makes the following Regulations:

1.Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Parliamentary Allowances Regulations 2003 to provide for the electoral regions for the Legislative Council as notified in the Special Government Gazette (No. 185) of 7 October 2005 under the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act 1982 to enable the calculation of residential, travelling and electorate allowances payable to members of the Legislative Council.
2.Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 8 of the Parliamentary Salaries and Superannuation Act 1968.
3.Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 16 December 2006.
4.Amendment of Schedule 1
For paragraph (b) of Schedule 1 to the Parliamentary Allowances Regulations 2003[1] substitute—
"(b)The following electoral regions as notified in the Special Government Gazette (No. 185) of 7 October 2005 as required under the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act 1982—
Eastern Metropolitan
Southern Metropolitan".
5.Amendment of Schedule 2
For paragraph (b) of Schedule 2 to the Parliamentary Allowances Regulations 2003 substitute—
"(b)The following electoral regions as notified in the Special Government Gazette (No. 185) of 7 October 2005 as required under the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act 1982—
Northern Metropolitan
South Eastern Metropolitan
Western Metropolitan".
6.Amendment of Schedule 3
Paragraph (b) of Schedule 3 to the Parliamentary Allowances Regulations 2003 is revoked.
7.Amendment of Schedule 5
For paragraph (b) of Schedule 5 to the Parliamentary Allowances Regulations 2003 substitute—
"(b)The following electoral regions as notified in the Special Government Gazette (No. 185) of 7 October 2005 as required under the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act 1982—
Eastern Victoria
Northern Victoria
Western Victoria".
