Transport (Passenger Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations 2008

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Transport (Passenger Vehicles) Regulations 2005 to provide for the Director, Public Transport Safety to exercise certain powers under those Regulations.

2Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 162 and 256 of the Transport Act1983.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 21 May 2008.

4Director, Public Transport Safety to exercise certain powers

(1)In regulations 19 and 23 of the Transport (Passenger Vehicles) Regulations 2005[1], for "Director" (wherever occurring) substitute "Safety Director".

(2)In regulation 30(2) of the Transport (Passenger Vehicles) Regulations 2005, for "Secretary or the Director" (wherever occurring) substitute "Secretary, the Director or the Safety Director".
