Road Safety (Road Rules) (Amendment) Regulations 2008
The Administrator of the State of Victoria as the Governor's deputy with the advice of the Executive Council, makes the following Regulations:

1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (Road Rules) Regulations 1999 to provide for the installation, operation and maintenance of traffic control items in relation to EastLink.
2Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.
3Definitions
In Regulation 105(1) of the Road Safety (Road Rules) Regulations 1999[1] insert the following definitions—
"EastLink has the same meaning as in the EastLink Project Act 2004;
Freeway Corporation has the same meaning as in the EastLink Project Act 2004;".
4Power of Link corporation and Extension corporation to erect traffic control items
(1)Insert the following heading to regulation 305 of the Road Safety (Road Rules) Regulations 1999—
"Power of other corporations to erect traffic control items".
(2)After regulation 305(2) of the Road Safety (Road Rules) Regulations 1999 insert—
"(3)The Freeway Corporation may, on EastLink, erect, establish, display, maintain or remove—
(a)with the written consent of the Corporation (and subject to compliance with any conditions imposed by it in giving its consent), a major traffic control item; or
(b)a minor traffic control item.".
