Fair Trading Act 1999

Fair Trading (Amendment) Regulations 2008

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Fair Trading Regulations 1999 to prescribe a class of contracts which are subject to Part 2B of the Fair Trading Act 1999.

2Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 32V and 165 of the Fair Trading Act 1999.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 August 2008.

4Application of Part 2B

After regulation 5 of the Fair Trading Regulations 1999[1] insert—

"5A   Application of Part 2B

For the purposes of section 32V(a) of the Act, a prescribed class of contract is contracts for the sale of land by instalments.".
