Local Government (General) Amendment Regulations 2008

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Local Government (General) Regulations 2004 to alter the threshold value for contracts which a council must list for public inspection.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 243 of the Local Government Act 1989.

3Documents to be made available for public inspection

For regulation 11(q) of the Local Government (General) Regulations 2004[1] substitute—

"(q)a list of contracts valued at $100 000 (or such higher amount as is fixed from time to time under section 186(1) of the Act) or more—

(i)which the Council entered into during the financial year without first engaging in a competitive process; and

(ii)which are not contracts referred to in section 186(5) of the Act.

Note

The Act provides that an amount higher than $100 000 may be fixed by Order in Council made under section 186(1) of the Act.".
