Health (Consultative Council on Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity) Amendment Regulations 2008

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Health (Consultative Council on Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity) Regulations 2002 to revoke the form of the report of a birth prescribed for the purposes of section 162G(2) of the Health Act 1958.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 162I of the Health Act 1958.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 January 2009.

4Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Health (Consultative Council on Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity) Regulations 2002[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

5Amendment of the objectives of the Principal Regulations

For regulation 1 of the Principal Regulations substitute

"1   Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe the conditions under which the Council may permit access to the reported information for medical research and studies.".

6Regulation 5 revoked

Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is revoked.

7Schedule revoked

The Schedule to the Principal Regulations is revoked.
