Police Amendment (Protective Services Officers) Regulations 2009

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to provide an improved rank structure for protective services officers appointed to the police force of Victoria.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 118K of the Police Regulation Act 1958.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 19 February 2009.

4Regulation 12 substituted

For regulation 12 of the Police Regulations 2003[1] substitute

"12   Rank structure

The rank structure for protective services officers in descending order is—

(a)protective services officer senior supervisor;

(b)protective services officer supervisor;

(c)protective services officer senior;

(d)protective services officer first class;

(e)protective services officer.".

5Advertising vacancies

In regulation 13(1) of the Police Regulations 2003, for "grade 1" substitute "senior".
