Road Safety (Vehicles) (Heavy Vehicle Fees) Amendment Regulations 2009

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999 to specify heavy vehicle registration fees for the 2009–2010 financial year.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

4Amendment of Part heading

For the heading to Part B of Schedule 4A to the Principal Regulations substitute—

"PART B—REGISTRATION FEES FROM 1 JULY 2008 TO 30 JUNE 2009".

5Amendment of clause heading

For the heading to clause 6 of Schedule 4A to the Principal Regulations substitute—

"Registration fees from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009".

6Registration fees

In clause 6 of Schedule 4A to the Principal Regulations for "on or after 1 July 2008" substitute "from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009".

7Revocation of clause 7 of Schedule 4A

Clause 7 of Schedule 4A to the Principal Regulations is revoked.

8New Parts C and D inserted in Schedule 4A

After Part B of Schedule 4A to the Principal Regulations insert—

"PART C— REGISTRATION FEES FROM 1 JULY 2009 TO 30 JUNE 2010

7Registration fees from 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010

The fee which is payable from 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010 for registration or renewal of registration of a vehicle to which this Schedule applies is the amount calculated for the vehicle in accordance with the relevant Tables to this clause.

8Vehicles in 2 or more categories

If a vehicle falls within 2 or more categories of vehicle that are relevant to this Schedule, the fee for the vehicle is the higher or highest of the fees that apply to the vehicle.
