Road Safety Act 1986

Road Safety (General) Amendment (Road Safety Camera) Regulations 2009

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (General) Regulations 1999 to provide for new terminology to describe detection devices.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 18 June 2009.

4Insertion of new regulation 301A

After regulation 301 of the Road Safety (General) Regulations 1999[1] insert

"301A   Prescription of devices for the purposes of section 66

(1)An automatic detection device is a device prescribed for the purposes of section 66.

(2)A prescribed road safety camera is an automatic detection device.".

5Prescribed devices

In regulation 302 of the Road Safety (General) Regulations 1999, for "For the purposes of section 66 of the Act, the prescribed detection devices are" substitute "For the purposes of the definition of automatic detection device the following devices are prescribed".
