Plumbing Amendment Regulations 2009
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Plumbing Regulations 2008 to prescribe the classes of plumbing work required for registration or a licence to carry out specialised plumbing work.
2Authorising provisions
These Regulations are made under sections 221ZZZV and 262 of the Building Act 1993.
3Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 1 September 2009.
4Heading to Part 12 substituted
For the heading to Part 12 of the Plumbing Regulations 2008[1] substitute—
"PART 12—ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENCE OR REGISTRATION".
5New regulation 37A inserted
In Part 12, before regulation 38 of the Plumbing Regulations 2008 insert—
"37A Prescribed classes of plumbing work required to carry out specialised plumbing work
(1)For the purposes of section 221OA(1)(a) of the Act, the prescribed class of plumbing work required for registration in the class of specialised plumbing work set out in Column 2 of the Table in Schedule 2A is the class of plumbing work set out in Column 3 of that Table corresponding to that class of specialised plumbing work.
(2)For the purposes of section 221N(1)(a) of the Act, the prescribed class of plumbing work required for a licence in the class of specialised plumbing work set out in Column 2 of the Table in Schedule 2A is the class of plumbing work set out in Column 4 of that Table corresponding to that class of specialised plumbing work.".
6New Schedule 2A inserted
After Schedule 2 to the Plumbing Regulations 2008 insert—

7Qualifications and experience requirements to carry out specialised classes of plumbing work
For Part 2 of Schedule 3 to the Plumbing Regulations 2008 substitute—
"PART 2—QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED IN RESPECT OF CLASSES OF SPECIALISED PLUMBING WORK
