Road Safety (General) Amendment (Careless Driving) Regulations 2009

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (General) Regulations 1999 to provide that the offence of careless driving of a vehicle other than a motor vehicle cannot be dealt with by traffic infringement notice.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 27 August 2009.

4Prescribed traffic infringements

In regulation 601(1A) of the Road Safety (General) Regulations 1999[1] for "section 65" substitute "section 65(1)".
