Road Safety (Drivers) Amendment Regulations 2009

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objectives of these Regulations are to—

(a)amend the Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 2009 to provide for the


incurring of demerit points for certain offences under the Road Safety Road Rules 2009; and

(b)make consequential amendments arising from the making of the Road Safety (General) Regulations 2009 and the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2009.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road SafetyAct 1986.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 9 November 2009.

4Substitution of Schedule 3

For Schedule 3 to the Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 2009[1] substitute

5Amendments to Schedule 4

In Schedule 4 to the Principal Regulations—

(a)after the entry relating to the Road Safety (General) Regulations 1999 insert

"Road Safety (General) Regulations 2009

Regulation 50."; and

(b)after the entry relating to the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999 insert

"Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2009

Regulations 259(2) and 266.".
