The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to make amendments to the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Regulations 2005 as a result of the enactment of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009, which implements the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law as a law in Victoria.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 64 of the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Act 2003.

3Definitions

(1)In Regulation 4 of the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Regulations 2005[1] for the definition of nurse substitute

"nurse means a person registered under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law—

(a)to practise in the nursing and midwifery profession as a nurse (other than as a midwife or as a student); and

(b)in the registered nurses division of that profession;".

(2)In Regulation 4 of the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Regulations 2005 insert the following definition—

"registered medical practitioner means a person registered under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law to practise in the medical profession (other than as a student);".
