Road Safety (Vehicles) Amendment (Electronic Stability Control) Regulations 2010
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2009 to make minor changes to the provisions relating to the requirement for a motor vehicle manufactured on or after 1 January 2011 to be fitted with a compliant system of electronic stability control.
2Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.
3Principal Regulations
In these Regulations, the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2009[1] are called the Principal Regulations.
4Exemptions
(1)In regulation 37(5) of the Principal Regulations for "until" substitute "up to, but not including,".
(2)In regulation 37(6)(b) of the Principal Regulations for "by" substitute "before".
(3)For regulation 37(8) of the Principal Regulations substitute—
"(8)In this regulation—
(a)a reference to motor vehicle industry includes, but is not limited to, a reference to manufacturers of motor vehicles and dealers in motor vehicles; and
(b)a reference to a model of motor vehicle includes a reference to a variant of a model of motor vehicle.".
5Schedule 2
(1)In clause 175(2)(d) of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, after "a model" insert ", or a variant of a model,".
(2)In clause 175(3) of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, for "day on which a compliance plate is first affixed to it" substitute "date shown on the vehicle's compliance plate".
