Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Act 2007
Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Amendment (Scheme Target) Regulations 2011
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Regulations 2008 to—
(a)prescribe the VEET scheme target for each year of the period commencing 1 January 2012 and ending 31 December 2014; and
(b)prescribe customers for the purposes of the definition of scheme acquisition.
2Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 75 of the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Act 2007.
3Commencement
(1)These Regulations (except regulation 5) come into operation on 31 May 2011.
(2)Regulation 5 comes into operation on 1 January 2012.
4Principal Regulations
In these Regulations, the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Regulations 2008[1] are called the Principal Regulations.
5Scheme acquisitions
For regulation 12 of the Principal Regulations, substitute—
"12 Scheme acquisition
For the purpose of the definition of scheme acquisition in section 3(1) of the Act, the following are prescribed customers—
(a)all of a relevant entity's customers of electricity in Victoria;
(b)all of a relevant entity's customers of gas in Victoria, other than customers who are engaged in the activity of owning, controlling or operating a gas‑fired electricity generator connected to the interconnected national electricity system and who, for the purposes of section 11(1) of the National Electricity (Victoria) Law are Registered participants, or are exempt from the requirement to be a Registered participant, in relation to that activity.".
6VEET scheme target
After regulation 12 of the Principal Regulations insert—
"13 VEET scheme target
For the purposes of section 30(b) of the Act, the VEET scheme target is, in each year of the period commencing 1 January 2012 and ending 31 December 2014, 5·4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent of greenhouse gas emissions.".
