Road Safety (Vehicles) Amendment (Fire Services Commissioner) Regulations 2012

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2009 to prescribe a vehicle used by the Fire Services Commissioner as an emergency vehicle to enable it to be fitted with flashing lights.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3Schedule 2—Vehicle Standards

In clause 3 of Schedule 2 to the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2009[1], in the definition of emergency vehicle, after paragraph (b) insert

"(ba)a vehicle under the control of the person appointed as the Fire Services Commissioner under the Fire Services Commissioner Act 2010 and which has as one of its purposes the transportation of the Fire Services Commissioner for the purpose of enabling the Fire Services Commissioner to control the response to a major fire within the meaning of that Act;".
