Road Safety Road Rules Amendment (Car Doors) Rules 2012

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Rules is to amend the Road Safety Road Rules 2009 to increase the maximum penalty for the offence of causing a hazard to any person or vehicle by opening a door of a vehicle, leaving a door of a vehicle open or getting off, or out of, a vehicle.

2Authorising provision

These Rules are made under section 95D of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3Opening doors and getting out of a vehicle etc.

For the penalty at the foot of rule 269(3) of the Road Safety Road Rules 2009[1] substitute

"Penalty:10 penalty units.".
