Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Amendment Regulations 2012

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Regulations 2012 to prescribe a value for the purposes of the definition of high value in the case of a motor vehicle under the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 232 of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 September 2012.

4New regulation 5A inserted

After regulation 5 of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Regulations 2012[1] insert

5ADefinition of a high value motor vehicle"

For the purposes of paragraph (a) of the definition of high value in section 3(1) of the Act, the value prescribed is $1000.".
