Firearms Amendment Regulations 2012

The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's deputy with the advice of the Executive Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Firearms Regulations 2008 to reduce the penalty for certain prescribed offences.

2Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 170 and 191 of the Firearms Act 1996.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 20 September 2012.

4Infringement penalty for certain prescribed offences

In Schedule 7 to the Firearms Regulations 2008[1]—

(a)in Column 3 of the item relating to Infringement Offence Code 1804, for "2 penalty units" substitute "1 penalty unit";

(b)in Column 3 of the item relating to Infringement Offence Code 1805, for "2 penalty units" substitute "1 penalty unit";

(c)in Column 3 of the item relating to Infringement Offence Code 1807, for "2 penalty units" substitute "1 penalty unit";

(d)in Column 3 of the item relating to Infringement Offence Code 1808, for "2 penalty units" substitute "1 penalty unit".
