Local Government (Long Service Leave) Amendment Regulations 2012

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objectives

The objectives of these Regulations are to amend the Local Government (Long Service Leave) Regulations 2012—

(a)revoke the definition of ordinary pay; and

(b)to provide for payments, of deferred long service entitlements of members who voluntarily terminate their employment with the Council, to be made to public service bodies or special bodies on a discretionary rather than a mandatory basis.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 243 of the Local Government Act 1989.

3Definition of ordinary pay revoked

Regulation 6 of the Local Government (Long Service Leave) Regulations 2012[1] is revoked.

4Entitlement to long service leave on voluntary termination if member has 7 years of recognised service

In regulation 9(5)(b) of the Local Government (Long Service Leave) Regulations 2012, for


"must pay" substitute "may pay".
