Tobacco Amendment Regulations 2012
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Tobacco Regulations 2007 as a consequence of amendments to Commonwealth law.
2Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 43 of the Tobacco Act 1987.
3Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 1 December 2012.
4Principal Regulations
In these Regulations, the Tobacco Regulations 2007[1] are called the Principal Regulations.
5Regulation 8 substituted
For Regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations substitute—
"8 Labelling of tobacco products
For the purposes of section 11 of the Act, packages in which tobacco prepared for smoking is sold, or intended to be sold, by retail must be labelled in accordance with the provisions of the Competition and Consumer (Tobacco) Information Standard 2011 of the Commonwealth.".
6Part A of Schedule 1A substituted
For Part A of Schedule 1A to the Principal Regulations substitute—
