Magistrates' Court (Arbitration) (Professional Costs) Amendment Regulations 2012

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Magistrates' Court (Arbitration) Regulations 2010 to increase the allowances for professional costs that may be awarded to a party in respect of an arbitration under Division 2 of Part 5 of the Magistrates' Court Act 1989.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 140 of the Magistrates' Court Act 1989.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 January 2013.

4Amendments to Schedule 3

In clause 1 of Schedule 3 to the Magistrates' Court (Arbitration) Regulations 2010[1]—

(a)in paragraphs (a) and (c), for "$1307" substitute "$1355";

(b)in paragraphs (b) and (d), for "$1409" substitute "$1461";

(c)in paragraphs (e) and (f), for "$1511" substitute "$1566";

(d)in paragraph (g)—

(i)in subparagraph (i), for "$246" substitute "$255";

(ii)in subparagraph (ii), for "$306" substitute "$317";

(iii)in subparagraph (iii), for "$368" substitute "$381".
