Legal Profession (Admission) Amendment Rules 2013

The Council of Legal Education makes the following Rules:

1Object

The object of these Rules is to amend the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2008 to provide for former local lawyers to apply for readmission to the legal profession.

2Authorising provision

These Rules are made under section 2.3.12 of the Legal Profession Act2004.

3Commencement

These Rules come into operation on 2 September 2013.

4Definition of local applicant amended

In Rule 1.05(1) of the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2008[1], in paragraph (a) of the definition of local applicant, after "Australia" insert "(other than Victoria)".
