Transport (Ticketing) Amendment (On-the-Spot Penalty Fare Amount) Regulations 2016

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Transport (Ticketing) Regulations 2006—

(a)to prescribe the amount for an on-the-spot penalty ticket; and

(b)to remove the mechanism for the annual adjustment of that amount.

2Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 221AA and 256 of the Transport (Compliance and Miscellaneous) Act 1983.

3Substitution of regulation 14C

For regulation 14C of the Transport (Ticketing) Regulations 2006[1], substitute—

"14C   On-the-spot penalty fare amount

The amount prescribed for an on-the-spot penalty ticket is $75.".

4Revocation of regulations 14D and 14E

Regulations 14D and 14E of the Transport (Ticketing) Regulations 2006 are revoked.
