Transport (Ticketing) Amendment (On-the-Spot Penalty Fares Revocation) Regulations 2016

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Transport (Ticketing) Regulations 2006 to revoke the provisions of those Regulations relating to on-the-spot penalty tickets, on-the-spot penalty ticket offences and on-the-spot penalty fares.

2Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 221AA and 256 of the Transport (Compliance and Miscellaneous) Act 1983.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 January 2017.

4Definitions and reference provision

In regulation 5(1) of the Transport (Ticketing) Regulations 2006[1], in the definition of ticket omit ", and includes an on-the-spot penalty ticket".

5Revocation of regulation 14A

Regulation 14A of the Transport (Ticketing) Regulations 2006 is revoked.

6Revocation of Part 2A

Part 2A of the Transport (Ticketing) Regulations 2006 is revoked.
