Local Government Amendment Act 2016

No. 46 of 2016

[Assented to 31 August 2016]

The Parliament of Victoria enacts:

1Purpose

The purpose of this Act is to repeal section 76C(1) of the Local Government Act 1989 and to make a consequential amendment to that Act.

2Commencement

This Act comes into operation on 31 August 2016.

3Councillor Code of Conduct

(1)Section 76C(1) of the Local Government Act 1989 is repealed.

(2)In section 76C(6A) of the Local Government Act 1989, for "this section" substitute "subsection (2)".

4Repeal of amending Act

This Act is repealed on 31 August 2017.

Note

The repeal of this Act does not affect the continuing operation of the amendments made by it (see section 15(1) of the Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984).
