Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre

(Amendment) Act 1997†

[Assented to 18 November 1997]

The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:

1. Purpose

The main purpose of this Act is to amend the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre Act 1994 to make further provision for the Melbourne

Sports and Aquatic Centre land.

2. Commencement

This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3. Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre land

(1) In section 3 of the Melbourne Sports and	Act No.
Aquatic Centre Act 1994, for the definition of	117/1994.
"Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre land" substitute— ' "Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre land"

means the land shown delineated on the plan
in the Schedule being the land more
particularly described in certified plan
number 118242 lodged in the Central Plan
Office of the Department of Natural

Resources and Environment;'.

(2) Sections 4 and 35 of the Melbourne Sports and

Aquatic Centre Act 1994 are repealed.

4. Albert Park land

(1) In section 24(1) of the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre Act 1994 after "Centre land" insert "and the whole of the land reserved by Order in Council dated 10 October 1995 and published in the Government Gazette on 12

October 1995".

(2) After section 24(2) of the Melbourne Sports and

Aquatic Centre Act 1994 insert—

"(3) On and from the commencement of section 4

of the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic

Centre (Amendment) Act 1997—

(a) under sub-section (2) and the lease
made by Melbourne Parks and
Waterways and the Melbourne Sports
and Aquatic Centre Trust on 17
November 1995 acknowledging and

the lease deemed to have been granted been granted under sub-section (2) are deemed by this sub-section to be leases

of the whole of the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre land;

(b) a reference to land in a lease referred to in paragraph (a) is a reference to the whole of the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre land.".

5. Plan of Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre land For the Schedule to the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre Act 1994 substitute—
