1874, entitled " ThePreamble.
Adclaide iJniversity Act," t lx Governor was cmpower&t in the nsmc and on behalf of Her Majesty to alienate, grant, and convey in fcc simple to the University bf Adelaide, or to reserve and dedicate a piece of lmtl in Addaide, cast of the Gun Shed and facing North-terrace, not exceeding five acres, to be used as a site for the University buildings and for thc purposes of such University, with the proviso that the land so granted should be held upon trust for the purposes of suclr University, such trusts to be approved by the Governor: And whereas by land gmnt, dated the fifteenth day of Januarv, one thousand eight hurllired and seventy six [Register Book, volume

mentioned and described in the Schcdulc hereto, marked B, for the piecc of land mentioned and ~iescribed in the Schedule hereto, marked C, the last mentioned piccc of land being portion of the said land so alienated, granted, and conveyed as aforesaid: Be it therefore Enacted by the Governor of the Province of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly of the said Province in this present Parlia- ment assembled, as follows:

SCHEDULES REFERRED TO.
All that piece or parcel of land, in Adelaide, east of the Gun Shed, and facing North-terrace, and containing in all four acres, two roods, and eight perches, be the same a little more or less, which said piece of land commences at
a right angle and runs westerly four hundred end seventy-seven links, then turns at a
right angle and runs southerly nine hundred and fifty-four links, where it joins the point of commencement, facing Korth-terrace aforesaid, which said piece of land ia so situate that a line drawn from the centre of Pulteney-street, and continued across North-terrace, and thencc through the said piece of land, would intersect the same piece of land longitudinally from north to south into two equal parts.

All that piecc or parcel of land situated in Adelaide east of thc Gun Shed, and facing North-terrace, and containing in all thrcc acres, be the same a little more or lcss, the boundary of which said piecc of land commences at a point on the northern side of North-terrace aforesaid, distant one hundred and sixty two links xesterly from the intersection of thc northern side of North-terrace by the western boundary of Pulteney-street, if such b nmdary were continued northerb in a straight line across North-tcrracc, and r u n s thence we-terly along the northcrn side of North-terrace aforesaid three hundred and fifteen link*, then turnr at a right angle and runs thence northerly nine hundred and fifty-fcur links; then turns at a right ai~gle, and runs thence easterly thrcc hundred and fifteen links; then turns at a right angle and runs southerly nine hundred and fifty-fow links, where it joins the point of commencement.
All that piece or parcel of land situated in Adelaide, cast of the Gun Shed, and facing North-terrace, and containing in all three acres, be the same a little more or less the boundary of which said piece of land commences at thc intersection of
