UNIVEESITY (SENATE) AMEND­

MENT ACT.

Act No. 2, 1918.

George V, An Act to provide that the members of the present

Senate of the University of Sydney shall eontinue in office until a day to be proclaimed by the Governor, and for that purpose to amend the Acts relating to the said University. [Assented to, 7th March, 1918.]

»E it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty,

by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­

lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South

Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of

the same, as follows :—■

Short title.

1 . This Act may be cited as the “ University (Senate) Amendment Act, 1918.”

Members of

2 . (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in any

Gazette by the Governor.

On the day so proclaimed those memhers of the Senate who, but for this Act, would have retired on or before that day, shall then retire, and the vacancies created by such retirement shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of the said Acts.

Saving.

(2) Nothing herein shall prevent any such mem­ ber from resigning his office, and any vacancy occurring by death or resignation shall be tilled as provided by the said Acts,
