Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has approved the following By-law made by the Council of the University of Wollongong under the University of Wollongong Act 1989.

Explanatory note
Following the retitling of officers at the University of Wollongong (for example, the Vice-Principal (Administration) as the Chief Administrative Officer, who also holds the title of Secretary to Council, and the University Librarian as the Director of Library Services), this By-law revises position titles in the University of Wollongong By-law 2005.

This By-law is made under the University of Wollongong Act 1989, including section 28 (the general power to make by-laws).

1      Name of By-law

This By-law is the University of Wollongong Amendment By-law 2014.

2      Commencement

This By-law commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of University of Wollongong By-law 2005

(1) Clauses 5 (b), 19, 22, 23 (b), 24 (1) and 33 (3)

Omit “Vice-Principal (Administration)” wherever occurring.

Insert instead “Secretary to Council”.

(2) Clause 32 Members of the University
Omit “Vice-Principal, Pro Vice-Chancellor and University Librarian”.
Insert instead “Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Finance Officer, Pro
Vice-Chancellor and Director of Library Services”.
(3) Schedule 1
Omit clause 1 (2). Insert instead:
(2) The Returning Officer is to be the Secretary to Council, or a deputy
appointed by him or her.
