AN ACT to amend sections twenty-eight and thirty-

one of the University of Western Australia Ae

1911-1944.

[Assented to 11th December, 1947.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows :—

1.    (1) This Act may be cited as the University of SeMolit

be read as one with the University of Western Australia

Act, 1911-1944 (Act No. 37 of 1911 as amended by the

Western Australia Act Amendment Act, 1947, and shall of /944,z.14. hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

(2) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be oltatiot

cited as the University of Western Australia Act, 1911-

1947.

Section twenty-eight of the principal Act is Ameodment

of

amended by adding thereto a subsection as follows :—

(4) The Guild of Undergraduates shall be a body corporate by that name with perpetual succession and a common seal; and shall by that name be capable in law of suing and being sued, and shall have such other powers and authorities and shall be subject to such obligations as shall have been or shall from time to time be prescribed by or under the Statutes for the time being in force.

Amendment

of s. 31.

3. Section thirty-one of the principal Act is amended by deleting paragraph (v) of subsection (1) and insert- ing in lieu thereof the paragraph following:—

(v) The Guild of Undergraduates, the conditions of membership, additional powers, authorities and obligations of the Guild of Undergradu- ates and the use and custody of the common seal thereof.
