BY-LAW

(Relating to the Academic Board)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the University of Technology, Sydney, Act 1989, has

been pleased to approve the By-law made by the Council of the

University of Technology, Sydney, and set forth hereunder.

The Council of the University of Technology, Sydney, in pursuance of

the University of Technology, Sydney, Act 1989, makes the following

By-law:

The University of Technology, Sydney, By-law 1990 is amended by inserting in clause 47 (4) after the word “election” the words “and provision for situations where, for any reason, there is no professor available to be elected as an academic staff member of the Board”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Currently the University of Technology, Sydney, By-law 1990 requires that the Academic Board of the University of Technology, Sydney, include 3 members (one of whom must be a professor) of the academic staff elected from each Faculty.

The object of this By-law is to enable the Council of the University to make

rules to provide for situations where there is no professor available to be elected.
