This statute may be cited as the University of Queensland (Statute No. 1) Amendment Statute (No. 1) 1995 . ˙ Statute amended 2. This statute amends the University of Queensland (Statute No. 1—Method of Election of Members of the Senate) Statute . ˙ Amendment of s 11 (Form of ballot paper) 3. Section 11(c)— omit, insert— ‘(c) be in a form enabling— (i) the voter to indicate the voter’s preference for the candidates; and (ii) the votes to be counted under section 15.’. ˙ Amendment of s 15 (Method of counting) 4.(1) Section 15— insert— (1A) The votes of full-time graduate staff and students are counted under subsections (1) to (10).’. (2) Section 15(4), ‘, subject to subsection (9),’— omit. (3) Section 15(9) and (10)— omit. (4) Section 15(11) and (12)— renumber as section 15(9) and (10). (5) Section 15—

(12) The voter must mark the ballot paper to indicate the voter’s preference for up to 8 candidates. (13) If subsection (14) does not apply, the 8 candidates with most votes are elected. (14) If more than 2 candidates who would be elected under subsection (13) are members of the teaching staff— (a) the 2 teaching staff candidates with the most votes are elected; and (b) of the candidates who are not members of the teaching staff—the 6 candidates with the most votes are elected.’.
