UNIVERSITY OF NEW SOUTH WALES ACT 1989—BY-LAW

(Relating to the conduct of elections)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the University of New South Wales Act 1989, has approved the by-law made by the Council of the University of New South Wales and set forth hereunder.

The Council of the University of New South Wales, in pursuance of the
University of New South Wales Act 1989, makes the following by-law:

Chapter II of the by-laws made under the University of New South Wales Act 1968 is amended by omitting from by-law 49 the words “the inside of”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

A voter in an election of members of the Council of the University of New South Wales must sign a declaration stating that the voter is duly qualified to vote. At present, that declaration must be printed on the inside of the envelope in which the envelope containing the completed voting paper is to be transmitted to the Registrar.

The object of this by-law is to allow that declaration to be printed on the outside of the envelope.

This by-law is made under section 27 (1) (the general by-law-making power) of the University of New South Wales Act 1989.
