(Relating to penalties for cheating in examinations)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the University of New England Act 1989, has been pleased to approve the By-law of the University of New England made by the Interim Board of Governors of the University and set forth hereunder.

The Interim Board of Governors of the University of New England, in pursuance of the University of New England Act 1989, hereby makes the following By-law
By-law No. 12 of the By-law of the University of New England is amended by omitting from clause 14 (4) all words after the word "be" and by inserting instead the words "suspension from the University for one year and the giving of the grade of WBU-FF (withdrawn by the University and deemed to have failed) for that course".
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this By-law is to amend the By-law of the University of New England to provide that if the Dean is of the opinion that cheating has occurred in an examination and a student admits to it, the penalty is suspension from the University for one year and the giving of the grade of WBU-FF (withdrawn by the University and deemed to have failed) for that examination.
